NameSummit goes well beyond domain names.
You’d be forgiven for skipping panels at many domain name conferences. Once you’ve been once, you’ve seen the same panelists and same topics that make their appearance every year.
This changed a bit with NamesCon, but two conferences on the docket for this year go even further. Although they certainly have domain names at their core, they go much further.
First up is NameSummit taking place at the Hilton Midtown Manhattan August 7-8. Although the name is NameSummit, that’s not just referring to domain names. Dubbed “A Digital Branding” conference, the agenda shows that it will help people with digital marketing and social media.
There will panels about SEO, SEM, YouTube, body language, and even blockchain.
You’ll see some familiar domain name faces (it’s being organized by domain attorney Jason Schaeffer, domain investor Steven Kaziyev and event manager Jodi Chamberlain) but the topics go well beyond how to sell domain names.
Tickets are still available for the two-day event for $299. The hotel block is sold out but rooms at the Hilton are available for around $200 (a great deal for NYC).
Later this year another conference that expands beyond domains but is founded by the domain community, Merge, will take place in Florida. More on that in a later post.
