Australian registrar gobbles up Singapore company.

Dreamscape Networks, owner of Australian domain name registrar CrazyDomains, has acquired Singapore’s Vodien Group for AUS $30 million (about USD $23 million).

Vodien Group has 27,000 customers and 52,000 domains under management. It ranks first in hosting market share in Singapore and third for Singapore’s .sg domain registrations with 19% market share.

Dreamscape, which owns 30% of the market for .au domains, has been trying to move beyond just domain names to increase its share of the hosting market. Earlier this year it acquired Australian hosting company Net Logistics for AUS $2.55 million.

Dreamscape Networks went public last year. Shares trade on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker DN8.
